UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCE
What is the Difference Between a Septic Tank and a Cesspit?

Septic tanks are a fundamental part of the sewage treatment system and typically they have an outlet that runs through directly to a soakaway system, which is a solution to standing surface water collection.

A cesspit, on the other hand, is a holding tank that comes without an outlet for waste to be deposited through. Rather than being part of the sewage waste system, a cesspit acts as a singular storage solution for commercial or household waste.

Because cesspits have no outflow, they fill up much faster and need emptying far more frequently than septic tanks. Our team can advise on the right system for your property and the correct emptying schedule.
Signs Your Tank Needs Emptying
If your septic tank is full, you will be experiencing one or more of the following problems around your commercial premise or home.
Slow Flushing Toilets
Toilets that take an unusually long time to clear or refill correctly across the property.
Slow Draining Water
Water that is slow to drain and empty out of sinks, showers or baths is an early warning sign.
Drainpipes That Gurgle
Drainpipes that consistently gurgle indicate air struggling to escape past a near full tank.
Backed Up Sewage
An abundance of backed up sewage being found within toilet bowls or sinks needs urgent attention.
